Chairperson

As the Chairperson of the Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Specialists (CISCM), Dr. Amina Al-Saidi provides strategic leadership and governance oversight to advance the Institute’s mission of promoting professional excellence, ethical standards, and innovation in supply chain management worldwide.

Renowned for her visionary approach, Dr. Al-Saidi has been instrumental in shaping resilient and sustainable supply chain ecosystems, helping organizations navigate complex challenges such as digital transformation, post-pandemic recovery, and environmental responsibility.

 

Academic & Professional Background

Dr. Al-Saidi holds a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Risk Management from the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), where her doctoral research focused on resilience modeling and crisis preparedness in global logistics systems. She also earned her MBA in International Business from the American University of Sharjah and a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from King Saud University.

Her academic expertise is complemented by extensive executive training in strategic procurement, sustainability leadership, and advanced logistics from institutions such as INSEAD and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

 

Professional Experience

Dr. Al-Saidi currently serves as the Group Head of Supply Chain Strategy at Emirates Logistics Group, one of the largest logistics and transportation firms in the GCC region. In this capacity, she leads multi-country operations, focusing on:

  • Strategic sourcing and supplier management
  • End-to-end supply chain digitization and automation
  • Green logistics and ESG integration
  • Trade facilitation and customs modernization

Prior to this, she worked as a Supply Chain Consultant for global organizations such as Deloitte Middle East and Maersk Logistics, where she advised Fortune 500 companies on procurement transformation, risk mitigation, and cross-border supply chain optimization.

As Chairperson of the Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management, Dr. Al-Saidi:

  • Oversees institutional strategy, governance, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Leads international collaborations with universities, professional bodies, and industry partners.
  • Advocates for ethical, transparent, and sustainable supply chain practices.
  • Drives initiatives that empower women in logistics and promote youth participation in the profession.
  • Chairs the Global Council on Supply Chain Innovation and Ethics, fostering dialogue between industry leaders and policymakers.

Her tenure has seen significant growth in CISCM’s international footprint, with expanded partnerships across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, and the introduction of digital professional certification programs that align with global competency standards.
